Neelu completes ‘The Ira Waldorf Teacher Foundation Course’ (2015 – 2019)

In a time and age when learning, training and becoming a better teacher has meant gathering more information, skills and capabilities – The Ira Waldorf Teacher Foundation Course inspires us to listen again to Rudolf Steiner’s indications of our time and age.

Ira embarks on a journey to understand:

  • What does it mean to be a teacher?
  • What is my task as a teacher for this age and time?
  • How do I learn to “see” the children and understand what they seek?
  • How do I serve them best for their own destiny and mine?
  • What lies fundamental to human development?
  • What is “being human”?
  • How can I constantly stay striving?

The Ira Waldorf Teacher Foundation Course spans seven modules over 3-4 years with two modules every year (May-June & October-November). Each module of this Teacher education is a week-long, intensive training programme. Through the modules Ira works deeply to :

Understand the medical and physiological development of children from embryology through the various seven year cycles of human development.

Inspire inner developmental work of teachers, their own personal journey and building their capacities to be able to write their own curriculum based on their understanding of their own children.

Encourage building communities amongst teachers, parents and schools and learning to work together

MAR 31, 2018

On March 31, 2018, Saturday, Neev Montessori School in association with TREE foundation is organising turtle walk/hatchling release program for the for the parents and their friends of our school children. The program goes as follows:

  • We assemble at Tree Foundation’s office at Neelankarai at 5:15 pm where we get to see many injured Olive Ridley turtles that are receiving medical and rehabilitative care at the centre.
  • Then we will come to Neev Montessori School in Injambakkam, where we will see a short documentary about the sea turtles’s life, nesting habits, environmental threats they now face and tree foundation’s conservative efforts.  Understanding these issues will make our visit to the hatchery and our participation in the release of these tiny hatchlings become more meaningful to each of us including our children.
  • After watching the documentary, we will walk to the hatchery located at the beach near Injambakkam fishing village to release the hatchlings.

We are happy to extend the same to your friends. Please feel free to invite your friends for the same.

Please note that Tree foundation charges a nominal fee of ₹200/- per head (for adults only), which then goes towards food and upkeep of the injured turtles. Do let us know your interest and the number of people from your end.

Hoping to see all of you there.
