The Team at Neev Montessori
Vanaja Srinivasan nurtures a great passion for education of young children and an earnest interest in their holistic development. Her deep love for children and concern for their welfare is evident in the unmistakable warmth of her being.
With an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Diploma in Primary Montessori Education (3 – 6 years), she was a pioneering member in establishing Navadisha Montessori School in Velachery, Chennai. She has also been the National Examiner for Montessori primary diploma course.
She retired in 2013 as Deputy Director in Academics. With over two decades of experience behind her, she now brings to Neev the richness of her experience, the practicality of management and a vision in institution building.
Shobana has an Association Montessori Internationle (AMI) Diploma in Elementary Montessori Education (6-12 years) from Navadisha Montessori Foundation, Chennai. She also holds an honours graduate degree in Economics from the University of Delhi and was a stock analyst before joining the AMI course with a vision to bring finance into the world of children.
Being a Certified Financial Planner herself, She enjoys seeing children explore the various fields of knowledge and believes that understanding money management early on is absolutely essential to create a responsible adult. She has also completed an AMI Diploma in Assistants to infancy (0-3 years). This encompass the study of Montessori pedagogy and psychological approaches to child development from birth to three years.
With intensive teacher training and over eight years of teaching experience in a Montessori elementary environment, she has developed a deep understanding of child development and its significance in effective curriculum planning. She brings to Neev her genuine interest in various subjects, her passion for Mathematics and her unconventional method of teaching, which inspires the children to delve deeper into self-driven learning.
Ever since completing her Master’s degree, she has worked in various institutions involved with child care, child welfare and education. With the attitude of service, she joined the Nutrition and Child Care Section, UNICEF, Nepal and later Rashid Centre in UAE for children with special needs. She holds a Master’s degree in ‘Human Development and Family Studies’ and a B. Ed. in Special Education.
Her work with the Tree Foundation India, as a program coordinator for environmental education, has taught her a valuable lesson. The biggest responsibility for humanity today is to raise kind and compassionate children, and this can be achieved only through ‘The Right Education’.
Her quest for ‘The Right Education’ paved way into exploring the philosophy and pedagogy of Montessori and Waldorf education. She has learnt the Montessori methods and it’s true essence under the careful and meticulous guidance of Mrs. Vanaja Srinivasan, and has completed the Waldorf Teacher Training Programme from Ira institution of learning in 2018. She aspires to offer a skillfully enriched environment to every child in Neev. She has also recently completed the ‘Biography Consultation Training’ based on anthroposophy and provides consultation to parents and individuals seeking the same.
A Mechanical Engineer by training, Saeef is a dynamic person who as a young school boy was awarded the President’s Scout Award.
After gaining 12 years of experience in production and application of thermal insulation in the UAE, he returned to India in 2010 to raise his daughter in a nature-rich environment. He then established his own business, Roof Xperts India (a member of Indian Green Building Congress), which provides thermal insulation and waterproofing for buildings.
Saeef is also a passionate environmentalist. He is the Rescue and Rehabilitation Head (Hon) and Green Initiatives Head (Hon) at TREE Foundation India, and Director (Hon) at Elefriends 101 (Tamil Nadu’s First Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre for Captive Elephants). He put his engineering skills to good use in designing the centre for the elephants where they now enjoy a life free from chains. His love for animals inspires him to bring varied experiences to the children at Neev. He believes that a child who finds an inner connection with nature would never grow up to harm nature as an adult.
He is gifted with excellent hand skills and enjoys constructive hand work. The entire infrastructure and the innovative outdoor play area at Neev goes to his credit. Also, the outdoor play area for junior school at The School-KFI, Talambur campus was designed and fabricated by him. With his passion for work and deep love for all, he inspires children not by teaching but by being the person that he is.
